We mourn the loss Hon. Justice David Amilcar Shikomera Majanja, Judge of the High Court of Kenya and Commissioner of the Judicial Service Commission.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, colleagues, and the entire Judiciary and JSC fraternity during this time of deep sorrow and sadness.
Justice Majanja will be remembered as a towering figure in the development of our transformative post-2010 jurisprudence and a crucial pillar in the institution-building of the JSC and the Judiciary.
We stand in solidarity with the family, friends, and the entire Judiciary and JSC community during this very difficult period of mourning.

Justice Majanja's contributions to my chosen field of tax law will serve as a testimony to the great jurist. Tax practitioners will remember his robust decisions that lit up tax law by bringing constitutional rule and principles into the rigid tax practice. This includes the application of fair administrative action principles to Objection Decisions from the KRA for instance in Ndirangu t/a Ndirangu Hardware v Commissioner of Domestic Taxes (Tax Appeal E070 of 2021) [2023] KEHC 19357 (KLR) (30 June 2023) (Judgment). Tax practitioners will forever be relying on his wisdom from the decisions to hold the revenue authority to a high standard when interpreting tax laws.
