Rest in Peace.

Tributes Shared

Fellow accrossian as we fondly referred to each other, your death has hit hard. You were an astute Judge. You constantly encouraged me to join the bench and we would laugh it off and veer off into our respective memories of “Bush” (Alliance). During the tumultuous times at LSK when I served as the VP, you always called me and reminded me to always “Walk in the Light”! Judge, the Alliance Community has lost a devoted and passionate member. Hujatufanyia poa haki. Please rest in peace. You were indeed STRONG TO SERVE! Shine the Alliance torch brightest! Your legacy lives on!

Dear Judge To a man so intentional about friendship . To him who in humility served the public with empathy and justice. Firm but Kind . Go well my friend 😭😭😭😭

I came to know and experience your brotherlyness, intellectual prowess , friendship and humility when I joined the then Mohammed Muigai Advocates as a pupil in 1997. I can't believe you are gone Maj. I surrender your soul to God Almighty. May in peace and power your soul rest. Your true friendship forever in my heart rooted. Till we meet again, your Lordship.

You served with diligence. Alot can be learned from you. Go well Judge.

A great legal mind has rested. A wise jurist, an intelligent judge, a mentor, a role model and an inspiration to many in this legal space. May your soul rest in perfect peace Judge.

Judge Majanja was a brother in word and deed. As the Presiding Judge at kisumu law courts, where I was stationed in 2017/2019, he demonstrated selfless, efficient, effective yet humane leadership at all times. You took time to visit, fellow Judges in many parts of Kenya in good and bad times. I will forever cherish your visit at our rural home at Embu and very happy moments you shared with my family. You were a peer, per excellence and your counsel always warmed my heart be it over a cup of tea or telephonically. Rest in peace my brother

Fare thee well Judge.

Judge David Majanja you were a good boss, your generosity to everyone, how you ensured litigants get justice on time and you were down to earth, it's sad and unfortunate we won't be with you, rest well Omwami.

I mourn the CJ we shall never have,I mourn my captain,I mourn my friend, rest well Maj J.

Justice Majanja was a gentleman, an excellent legal mind and a thought leader. We have lost one of the best in the legal fraternity. May God rest His soul in eternal peace

Dear Judge, I vividly recall my engagement with you in Nakuru when, on behalf of EACC, I gave a lecture to your JSC Committee on reform of wealth declaration in the Judiciary. During my one-on-one with you, you came out as very intelligent, humble and passionate about what you do. You leave behind very rich jurisprudence on constiyutionalism in Kenya. Go thee well my Lord.

REST IN ETERNAL PEACE YOUR HONOUR

Maj, We last met on 26th May, 2024 back at home and you made me promise that I would look for you the next week. I did not. For the many inspiring and joyous conversations we had and the many coffees we drunk; either you advising me on different trajectories or us having long conversations on life’s pieces. You inspired us . You taught us to look at life beyond the worries. Your humility was admirable. Your intelligence was fascinating. You knew everything. You were well read. May the shores wave with it the legacy you have left behind. May we never forget. I will miss you. I will terribly miss you! Thank you for being family. For all that you were to my family and I, we remain grateful, Rest well

Judge and Commish. You have mentored me since our days in Parklands. I found you in 3rd year. Even then you towered above everyone. Legal practice and judiciary was richer because you lived. Rest in eternal peace Maj.

Rest well Judge. You mentored me and made me love constitutional law and human rights litigation. You were a great teacher and mentor. Rest well Judge!
