Mandera CUC meets to discuss establishment of a High Court sub-registry and an e-filing system in the area

Mandera Court Users Committee led by Principal Magistrate Peter Wasike held a meeting with Mandera County Governor Mohamed Adan Khalif to deliberate on various issues aimed at enhancing access to justice in the area.nnThe meeting focused on the establishment of a High Court sub-registry and an e-filing system at the court station as well as the establishment of courts in sub counties, a Municipal Court, and an Alternative Justice System centre, dubbed the Maslaha Centre, in the area.nnIn addition, it discussed the ongoing disposal of court records and the processing of unclaimed deposits at the court. Hon Wasike called on parties whose cases were concluded but deposits not yet refunded, to reach out to the court for processing of their refunds.nnOn the gazetted files for disposal (files from 1967 to 2011), the Head of Station asked members of the public who have interest in the targeted files, to visit the court or send an email to manderacourt@court.go.ke.nn nn
