Hon. (Dr). Justice Onga- rora Fred Nyagaka

Hon. Justice Dr. iur Fred Nyagaka was born in Kisii County.

He holds the following academic and professional qualifications:

• Doctor of the Rights/Law (Dr. iur) in Human Rights and Constitutional Law from the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin
• Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Democratic Governance from Ohio Northern University
• Bachelor of Laws from University of Nairobi
• Post Graduate Diploma in Law from Kenya School of Law
• Admitted to the Roll of Advocates in 1996
• Outstanding LL.M Student Award of the Pettit College of Law of 2007-08

He has over 26 years in the legal profession.

He was appointed as an Environment and Land Court Judge in 2021 and has served in Kitale.

 

Previous Experience

• Dean of the School of Law, Kisii University and Lecturer and Chair of Department of

Public Law at the School.

• Founding Coordinator, Faculty of Law, Kabarak University.
• Part-time lecturer of Law in Egerton University, University of Eastern Africa, Baraton, Kabarak University and Kenya Methodist University.
• Partner with M/S Nyachiro Nyagaka & Co Advocates, Eldoret and Nakuru.
• Practiced as M/S M C Getanda & Co. Advocates, Nakuru.
• Associate, M/S Nyairo & Co. Advocates, Eldoret.
• Associate, M/S BA Siganga & Co. Advocates, Kisumu.
