Tribute to the late Hon Justice Daniel Ogembo Ogola
On behalf of the Judiciary and the Judicial Service Commission, it is with profound sadness that I announce the sudden passing of Hon. Justice Daniel Ogembo Ogola, Judge of the High Court of Kenya.
Justice Ogembo joined the Judiciary as a Magistrate in 2004 and was subsequently appointed Judge of the High Court in 2016. At the time of his passing, he was the Presiding Judge at the Siaya Law Courts.
We received the news as we were paying our final respects to Hon. Justice Majanja at the Friends International Centre, Ngong Road. The untimely passing of Hon. Justice Ogembo comes at a trying time for the Judiciary, Judicial Service Commission and the Nation at large.
This is a deep blow to the Judiciary family, the legal fraternity and our country. We are all devastated.

Since I was born I have never seen such a daddy in this world.Justice Ogembo happen to be my uncle,he has been a happy man throughout.I never saw her sad any given time.when he greets me he would call be Jakotieno meaning from kotieno kendu Bay.He was down to earth and accommodated every person with how you are.so understanding,loving and respectfully to everyone.I have not believed on your demise.

Hon. Justice Daniel Ogembo Ogola, a man of few words, left an indelible mark during his tenure as the High Court judge for Siaya County. His approachable and soft-spoken demeanor endeared him to many. As SCODA’s representative and part of the CSOs in the ELC-CUC, I extend my deepest gratitude to Justice Ogembo. Justice Ogola was a long time friend right from our time in secondary school at St. Joseph's Rapogi. We both went on from there to Agoro Sare High School and then to the University of Nairobi. I have vivid memories of the many things we did together. Death has robbed us of an industrious human being, a pillar of hope to many, and a great thinker. We have lost a friend, comrade and brother.
