Justice Majanja was a brilliant Judge who promoted justice. His questions at the JSC were insightful and a lesson for many of us. His sudden departure leaves a lasting impression in our hearts and memories for those of us he inspired. My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, Judiciary and the entire legal fraternity. We mourn the loss Hon. Justice David Amilcar Shikomera Majanja, Judge of the High Court of Kenya and Commissioner of the Judicial Service Commission.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, colleagues, and the entire Judiciary and JSC fraternity during this time of deep sorrow and sadness.
Justice Majanja will be remembered as a towering figure in the development of our transformative post-2010 jurisprudence and a crucial pillar in the institution-building of the JSC and the Judiciary.

This Man, Majanja cannot be eulogized to anyone's satisfaction and when you try as I am doing right now, words come in barrages and you do not know what to write and at what sentence. My dearest brother, I have cried enough and so I must let go, I must write something. We met for the first time when I was at the children's court- and it is sad that we did not have time in this world for me to express my gratitude for your wise counsel. You taught me good values and to do the right thing all the time. Your age and the level of your maturity, the wisdom in you do not match because of your towering figure; It is a case of gone too soon. Sometimes I used to wonder how you could balance your role as a JSC commissioner, a Jurist and friend to all of us especially in the Judiciary. I have no doubt in my mind that you lived an adorable life and even if it was fairly short, your one day was like three days for a normal person- AND THIS IS TRUE. We cannot question God for picking an unripe fruit because In our human eyes, a fruit may look unripe but not in GOD's eyes. We can only Thank God for you. Fair thee well my brother untill we meet again. We will miss you here.

The Hon. Mr. Justice Commissioner David Majanja was one of our greatest Judge and Jurist of the post Constitution of Kenya 2010. He was highly efficient and effective in Judicial service delivery. His jurisprudence was rich and deep. As a judicial leader he was resilient with virtues of humility, magnanimity and generosity. When we reflect about his life, let us always want to be better persons full of justice and humanity. I convey, with a heavy heart of loss, my condolences and those of the ELRC, to the family, friends and colleagues. My the soul of the Honourable Justice Majanja rest in eternal peace.

I have known Justice David Majanja since his days at Mohamed & Nyaoga Advocates in the late 1990s. Justice Majanja was amongst the trailblazing young judges appointed to the judiciary under the new constitutional dispensation; and he did not dissapoint. The country has lost an exceptional jurist.

I remember our late Judge for his dedication to the legal profession. His tone in court was cordial and he handled litigants and counsel with respect. His decisions were sober and he has certainly left an indelible mark in the Justice system in Kenya and beyond. I also witnessed his humane and thoughtful side when he reached out to me and even sent financial support when my dear dad passed on last year. It’s life cruel irony that we are now mourning Justice Majanja. Rest well Judge
I was before Judge Manjanja a few days before the sad news came in. I was amazed how he could handle a cause list of over 70 files with so much ease. He could determine most of the cases right on the spot without going through the traditional procedures. We shall miss your prowess Judge. Rest in peace
