Tributes Shared

A judge whom one could learn so much from professionally and in life generally. His rich and thoughtful jurisprudence set in court will live with us and those after us. Rest in eternal peace judge.🕊

To a man who believed in substantive justice. When I first encountered you at the Civil Division, I knew the issue of backlogs would be something of the past. You ensured that advocates respected each other and in the event of interruption at your court, you didn’t shy off calling for respect to judicial proceedings. Go well Judge, till we met again

I am lost for words. Hon. Majanja you left us so soon. You were a great friend and colleague. We'll dearly miss you! Rest well my brother, Rest.

A great jurist and a good human.

Rest in perfect peace Judge. You did well for your country. You were a good man.

My Brother, Hero and Friend, May Your Gentle Soul Rest in Eternal Peace. Rest with the Angels, Your Lordship!

May the legacy of the Hon Judge forever live in our hearts.

Judge, you were a good man, an intellect, a jurist and on top of that you were super kind, humble and a humanitarian. I love how you used to support people and colleagues who needed support, you were always selfless. You were a great encourager and motivator, I have never seen you being off duty, you were dedicated to your work as a judge and a Commissioner, we have lost a real gem and it's really hard to believe all this. You shall be greatly missed but your memory shall live on, Rest in Peace Hon. Mr. Justice D A.S Majanja, may perpetual light shine upon you and God grant you eternal rest forever! Amen

Judge Majanja is very patient man. I was traveling with him to train the Judiciary of South Sudan in 2016 and I had remained behind with his yellow fever certificate after visa application. On the day of travel he arrived before me at JKIA and he was denied entry at first but due to his diplomatic passport he was given a seat at the lobby as he waited for me. He never raised a voice at me nor did he show any anger for keeping him waiting. As the President of KJSA he has been my confidant in the JSC and he responded to my queries anytime I reached him. On personal level he would ask me when am I getting admitted as an Advocate am sure he had plans for learned friends. He would support my course of feeding the less disadvantaged in Kawangware whenever I posted the event poster. Fare thee well Judge we have lost you but heavens have gained.

God plucked the best flower from us,rest easy in God's hand judge. We shall miss you dearly.

My sincere condolences to the family, the Judiciary and friends of Justice Majanja on this devastating loss. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

You mentored me well. I will always be indebted. May perpetual light shine upoun you Judge and may your soul rest in eternal peace. Amen.🙏

Justice Majanja was simply the best judge. He was a towering legal personality. I worked with him at Mohammed Muigai Advocates in 2006 and 2007. When he joined the bench in 2011, he transformed judging. I enjoyed appearing before him at the Constitutional and Human Rights Division. We exchanged many jurisprudential ideas. I will really miss him. But death ! I am deeply saddened. Pole sana to the family and the entire judiciary.

The News of the Passing of Justice Majanja hit everyone like an Earthquake. My interaction with the Good Judge started while he was an Associate at Mohammed & Muigai Advocates in 2003. I was 10years in Practice and the Judge was 5Years in practice. I was amazed at his interlect and although we were on opposite sides, I was representing an MP in a Defamation suit against Standard Newspaper. We had a nice dwell and although I got Orders to stop the serialisation of the story against my client by the Newspaper, we became friends and the rest is history. We spoke two weeks before his demise and I pray that whatever he promised me will come to fruition. We've had nostalgic moments both during his time in Private Practice for 13years and in the Bench for the same amount of time 13years. We've lost a Gallant Champion of Justice and the Rule of Law with Brilliant Jurisprudential interlect. Fare Thee Well My Brother

Hon. Justice Majanja was my first boss at Mohammed Muigai Advocates. I owe so much of what I am today as an advocate to him. He was the first human being to tell me I'd make a good advocate. He has been my mentor, big brother and a professional icon in my life. My CV still reads his name as my first professional referee. I still remember the day I was walking along the streets in town and he passed by in his official car, rolled down his window and waved at me. A very humble human being he was. Go well Judge, go well Maj. Rest with the Angels 😭😭😭 Rip.
