Tribute to the late Hon Justice David Amilcar Shikomera Majanja
We mourn the loss Hon. Justice David Amilcar Shikomera Majanja, Judge of the High Court of Kenya and Commissioner of the Judicial Service Commission.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, colleagues, and the entire Judiciary and JSC fraternity during this time of deep sorrow and sadness.
Justice Majanja will be remembered as a towering figure in the development of our transformative post-2010 jurisprudence and a crucial pillar in the institution-building of the JSC and the Judiciary.
We stand in solidarity with the family, friends, and the entire Judiciary and JSC community during this very difficult period of mourning.

Keep resting in peace Uncle. Thank you for your generosity towards me. Thank you also for being an inspiration to me and many more. We shall meet on that beautiful shore. Your legacy lives on and on.
Judge was a friend, a mentor, critic and boss. He walked through the JSC campaigns with gusto. He was of calm mien and humility. May the Lord place him in the best place in His kingdom. I learnt of his untimely demise with utter shock and consternation. It is not easy to ask whither cometh another?
May it please Your Lordship....our paths of interaction crossed in 2019 and grew ever since ...you cleared the causelist of projects save for only Two matters..I have my regrets that we shall not jointly accomplish them...I was certainly looking to.complete them and gain from your always brilliant valuable input..I will try accomplish one of them in your honour...the other can't be done as things stand...like i said previously..I'm forever indebted to you for that one act of kindness...even in your absence and to your family I'm forever indebted...you left abruptly...but it's God's will...let it be done...fare thee well my Lord..I am most obliged

"Grief is the final act of love." David, I never thought I'd be writing this. You are leaving a very big void only God can fill. I'm grateful to God for not only knowing you, but being a part of your life. Thank you. You will be missed dearly, you are loved still in even death. Justice Majanja was an astute jurist, a discerning judge, a mentor and an inspiration for many in the legal community. You always strived to cut through the noise and get to the heart of any matter in order to deliver justice. You continuously challenged us to continue to better our craft. It was truly an honour and a privilege to know you and I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked with you. You served your country excellently and diligently. But now your watch has ended. Fare thee well, Judge. May your soul rest in eternal peace.
