DEPARTMENT OF BUILDING SERVICES

 The Department of Building Services (DBS) derives its vision and mission from the Judiciary. Its vision is; “A Directorate of excellence in the delivery of construction projects and maintenance of buildings, infrastructure and equipment in the Judiciary”. Its mission is; “To deliver new construction projects in a manner that is timely, cost effective, quality controlled and ensure maintenance of reliable buildings, infrastructure and equipment”. The mandate of the department is to increase access to justice through physical courts, improve maintenance of physical courts and implement the development budget. The role of DBS in the Judiciary Blueprint STAJ, is to ensure presence of a physical courts within a range of 100 kilometers, a high court in every county and a magistrate court in every sub-county. There are four units that comprise the department. These are namely the units of architecture design, quantity surveying, structural engineering, M&E Engineering and Maintenance.
