CRJ reiterates Judiciary’s commitment to breaking barriers that hinder access to justice
Chief Registrar of the Judiciary, Winfridah Mokaya has reiterated the Judiciary’s commitment in breaking barriers that deny access to justice. In remarks made on her behalf by DCRJ Paul Ndemo during a two-day Tribunals Open Day at the Milimani Law Courts the CRJ said that Tribunals were among the initiatives instituted in the Judiciary that are aimed to enhance access to justice for all. She observed that Tribunals are currently handling 14,522 active cases and this current financial year alone has seen the filing of over 10,000 new cases. Tribunals Registrar, Ann Asugah noted that Tribunals have become an integral part of Kenya’s justice system that enable every Kenyan to access timely, affordable, and specialized justice. The Tribunals awareness forum provides an opportunity for members of the public to register cases, learn how to file online through the Tribunals website, engage directly with Tribunal Chairpersons and access free legal support from the Law Society of Kenya and Kituo Cha Sheria.
