JUDICIARY EMBARKS ON TRAINING TO STRENGTHEN AUTOMATION.
Chief Registrar of the Judiciary, Winfridah Mokaya, has officially launched a pivotal training exercise for Registrars and Judiciary staff on the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, dubbed Jumuika. The move is aimed at connecting all administrative units into one digital ecosystem, with a view to enhancing efficiency, transparency, and service delivery across all court stations and directorates.
Speaking during the opening session, the Chief Registrar emphasized that training is not merely procedural but foundational to the success of any technological system. “A good system only works if its users are confident and capable. This training is the bedrock of our success,” she said.
Hon Mokaya noted that the Jumuika ERP has been operational for one year in the stations with the Judiciary Headquarters joining this year. Through the system the Judiciary has achieved enhanced efficiency in finance, procurement, and human resource management — from faster cash bail refunds and reliable payroll processing to transparent budget tracking and real-time financial reporting. “These are not just administrative wins they translate into better service to the public and greater confidence in the Judiciary as an institution that delivers justice efficiently and transparently. Jumuika ERP has turned efficiency into accountability, and accountability into better service for the Kenyan public,” said Hon Mokaya.
The CRJ emphasized the importance of aligning the ERP system with the national e-Procurement platform (e-GP), and announced plans to work closely with the National Treasury to ensure that the two systems are integrated without losing the gains already made through Jumuika specifically on accounts and budget. She revealed plans to establish a Judiciary Situation Room — a digital command center to enable real-time monitoring of systems and data, ensuring proactive resolution of issues. “The Situation Room will be the nerve centre of our digital operations which will allow real-time monitoring of systems and provide timely interventions to avoid downtime. It will also serve as a single source of consolidated data for the institution,” Hon Mokaya explained. “In our ICT Master Plan,” CRJ Mokaya affirmed, “our objective is to fully automate both judicial and administrative process – not through a mere translation of manual systems into digital form, but through true transformation that eliminates inefficiencies and adds value.” “Our vision is to become a world-class institution in the dispensation of justice, setting the benchmark for efficiency, transparency and accountability,” the CRJ said.
