Hon. Lady Justice Ochieng Christine E. Atieno

Hon. Lady Justice Christine Atieno Ochieng was born in Siaya County.

 

She holds the following academic and professional qualifications:

  • Masters in Women’s Law from University of Zimbabwe
  • Bachelor of Laws from University of Pune
  • Bachelor of Arts (Psychology & Sociology) from M. S. University of Baroda
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Law from Kenya School of Law
  • Admitted to the Roll of Advocates in 1997
  • Certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution
  • Certificate in Legislative Drafting

She has over 25 years experience in the legal profession.

She was appointed as an Environment and Land Court Judge in 2016 and has served in Machakos and Kajiado

  • Executive Director, FIDA Kenya.
  • Senior Policy Advisor, Ipas Africa Alliance.
  • National Adviser /Coordinator for the UNFPA/UNICEF Joint Female Genital Mutilation/Cut (FGM/C) Programme.
