Hon. Mr. Justice Evans Makori

Hon. Mr. Justice Evans Makori was born in Kisii County.

He holds the following academic and professional qualifications:

Bachelor of Laws from University of Nairobi
Post Graduate Diploma in Law from Kenya School of Law
Certificate in Juvenile Delinquent Treatment System for Kenya (JDTS) from the United Nations Asia and Far East Institute for the Prevention of Crime and the Treatment of Offenders (UNAFEI) Fuchu, Tokyo, Japan
Admitted to the Roll of Advocates in 1996 He has over 26 years experience in the legal profession.

He was appointed an Environment and Land Court Judge in 2022 and has served in Malindi.

Previous Experience

Appointed District Magistrate II (Prof.) in 1997 rising through the ranks to Chief Magistrate.
Served in Nanyuki, Kitui, Mumias, Nyeri, Deputy Registrar ELC Milimani, Meru, Mombasa and Kericho Law Courts.
Worked as an Advocate in the firm of G. J. Mainye & Co Advocates, Kisii.

Member in the development of the Environment and Land Court Practice Directions and Amendments to the ELC Acts, Training and Management Manuals in the CCPO programme, the CJE Curriculum on the Child and the Law “Nuts and Bolts”, the CJE Curriculum on Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV), the development of the High Court Registry and Operations Manual, member of the Drafting Team on the Amendments to the Prison Act and the Borstal Institutions Act.
