DO NOT ALLOW TEMPORARY DISTRACTIONS TO DERAIL LASTING POSSIBILITIES – LADY JUSTICE ACHODE
Justice Lydia Achode has challenged students to aim higher and never limit their potential, reminding them that greatness can begin right in the classroom.
Speaking as Chief Guest at the Loreto Limuru Girls High School prize-giving ceremony, the Court of Appeal Judge and proud alumna encouraged students to build lives grounded in purpose, integrity, and influence.
“Your future is being shaped now,” she said. “In how you use your time, the discipline you show when no one is watching, and the choices you make between focus and distraction, substance and appearances, purpose and short-term excitement.”
Acknowledging the pressures young people face today, Justice Achode urged students to resist social and digital pressures and avoid rushing through life.
“Growth must be intentional and well-timed. Do not allow temporary distractions to derail lasting possibilities. Some things can wait—but your education, your character, and your personal development cannot.”
She said returning to the school as an alumna made the moment more humbling and deeply meaningful.
School Principal Lenah Ngesa noted that the day was dedicated to celebrating alumni and showcasing the school’s mission of nurturing great women leaders and inspiring both graduands and current students to dream bigger.
