Family Division launch simplified guidelines

The Family Division of the High Court of Kenya, has come up with simplified processes and procedures of inheritance and related family law practice.nnThe easily adaptable and systematic guideline will serve as a guiding tool for members of the bar-bench and court users in matters regarding succession and inheritance.nnPresiding over the launch of the booklet, the Principle Judge of the High court Justice Lydia Achode noted that the simplified procedures will assist ordinary court users in accessing justice in the Family DivisionnnThe entire process is clearly laid down from filing to the final distribution of the estate including laid out formats of how the originating court document look like and at what point they are issued.nnThe Inheritance and related family law practice tool was a joined project between the Judiciary and the International Development Law Organization (IDLO).nnPresent during the launch were Presiding Judge Family Division Hon.Justice Aggrey Muchelule and judges from the Division. Also presents were representatives from the Attorney General office, Law Society of Kenya, National Gender and Equality Commission, representatives from the Civil Society and IDLO.nnnn nnDownload guidelines
