The Small Claims Court seeks to promote access to and expeditious delivery of justice by increasing dispute resolution efficiency in observing the statutory mandate to finalize each case within 60 days. For the period the court has been in operation( 5 weeks), a total of 736 cases have been registered with 141 cases heard and determined.

n

n

Of the 736 cases registered so far, 500 are personal injury claims. In light of this, the Chief Justice has promised to establish another Small Claims Court at the Milimani Commercial Courts to specifically deal with personal injury claims separate from those of a commercial nature.
