• Post Graduate Diploma in Law, Kenya School of Law
• Admitted to the Bar in 1988
• Diploma in Business Management, Kenya Institute of Management

 

Training Attended

• Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) training, in particular arbitration
• Admitted as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb) in 2000
• Awarded Chartered Arbitrator status (C.Arb) in 2007
• Placed on the Chartered Institute’s International Register of Arbitrators (UK)

• Practiced law at Mwongo & Ngugi Advocates from 1999 to 2011
• Advocate at R. M. Mwongo, Advocates, from 1994

• Group Assistant Company Secretary- Sameer Group of Companies
• Practiced both domestic and international arbitration from 1989 until appointment as Judge
• Extensive teaching experience as an Approved Tutor, trainer and mentor in arbitration and ADR in several countries in Africa, for all modules of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators’ Courses.
• Chaired the Public Procurement Complaints, Review and Appeals Board (PPCRAB) between 2001 and 2007.

• Presiding Judge, Naivasha High Court from 2018 to 2021
• Presiding Judge at Kerugoya High Court
• Full member, MKIM
• An accredited Governance Auditor
