Hon. Lady Justice Esther Nyambura Maina was born in Murang’a County.


Appointment to Judicial Service


  • Joined the judicial service in 1987 as a District Magistrate II (Prof).
  • Appointed Judge of the High Court in 2012.
  • Served at Homa Bay, Kisumu, Nyamira, Milimani (Anti-Corruption and Economic Crimes Division) High Courts.
  • Presiding Judge at Homa Bay and Nyamira High Courts as well as at the Anti-Corruption and Economic Crimes (ACEC) Division of Milimani High Court.



Academic and Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Laws (LLB) degree, University of Nairobi, 1986.
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Law, Kenya School of Law
  • Admitted to the Roll of Advocates, 1988
