Hon. Lady Justice Mbugua Lucy Ngima Hiuhu

Hon. Lady Justice Lucy Mbugua holds the following academic and professional qualifications:

• Bachelor of Laws Degree from University of Nairobi
• Post Graduate Diploma in Law from Kenya School of Law
• Admitted to the Roll of Advocates

She has a wealth of experience in the legal profession.

She was appointed as an Environment and Land

Court Judge in 2016 and has served in Meru, Isiolo, Marsabit, Samburu and Nairobi.

 

Previous Experience

• Appointed District Magistrate II (Professional) in 1994.
• Served in Kitale, Maseno, Nyando, Karatina, Embu, Nairobi – Milimani Criminal Division and Machakos rising through the ranks to Chief Magistrate.

 

Other Responsibilities

• Member of Active Case Management Steering Committee in criminal cases.
• Facilitator BIOS ELC Induction trainings.

 

Interests

• Promoting women’s land rights; environmental protection and case management.
