Hon. Mr. Justice Olola James Otieno

Hon. Mr. Justice James O. Olola was born in Siaya County.

He holds the following academic and professional qualifications:

• Masters of Laws from University of Nairobi
• Bachelor of Laws from University of Nairobi
• Post Graduate Diploma in Law from Kenya School of Law
• Post Graduate Certificate in Corruption Studies from

Hong Kong University (HKU SPACE)

 

• Admitted to the Roll of Advocates in 1998

He has over 24 years experience in the legal profession.

He was appointed as an Environment and Land Court

Judge in 2016 and has served in Malindi and Nyeri

 

Previous Experience

• Practised Law in Nairobi and Nakuru between 1998 and 2006.
• Coordinator, Directorate of Legal Services and Assets Recovery, Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission (now Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission).
• Director, Complaints Management and Legal Services in the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA).

 

Other Responsibilities

• Chair of the Rift Valley Branch, Law Society of Kenya.
• Member of the National Council on Administration of

Justice’s Committee on Bail and Bond.
