Kenya Judiciary Academy (KJA) conducted a capacity building workshop for Judges, Deputy Registrars and Legal Researchers from the High Court Commercial and Tax Law Division on Company and Insolvency Law. The 3-day training that was conducted in partnership with the office of the Presiding Judge Commercial and Tax Law Division, International Development Law Organization (IDLO), and Kenya Deposits Insurance Corporation (KDIC) aims at providing conceptual and theoretical framework on matters touching on insolvency; promote understanding and application of consumer protection measures; and offer insights on emerging issues in the insolvency sector. Judiciary’s performance team evaluates and sets targets for Courts and administrative units

The Judiciary’s Administration of Justice and Performance Management Committee team led by Court of Appeal Judge Agnes Murgor  conducts an exercise that will see Courts, Registries and Directorates in the Judiciary, evaluated for the previous financial year, and set their performance targets, for the 2023/2014 financial year. More Small Claims Courts rolled out at border towns to enhance access to justice The Judiciary, through the Office of the Registrar Magistrate Courts, this week, rolled out five more Small Claims Courts (SCC), bringing to 10, the number of Small Claims Courts launched at border towns.  nnNyeri law courts launched an initiative that will see suspected offenders educated on court processes.nnThe move is meant to ease the court process for suspects who are arrested and locked in cells especially over the weekend and are arraigned in court on Monday.nnThe initiative dubbed ‘Friends of People in Conflict with the Law’ intends to help men, women and children in conflict with the law go through the court process.
