Recruitment of Court of Appeal Judges kicks off in Nairobi

The recruitment of Court of Appeal judges started kicked off on Monday 17 at Judicial Service commission (JSC) Secretariat, Re-Insurance Plaza, in Nairobi.nJustices Abida Ali-Aroni, Msagha Mbogholi, Aggrey Muchelule and Mumbi Ngugi were the first to be interviewed by the Commission.nThe JSC is seeking to recruit 11 individuals to fill the position Court of Appeal judge.nThirty five candidates are lined up for interview between today June 17 and July 1. Principal judge hosts children

High Court Principal Judge Lydia Achode hosted kindergarten pupils from Imani Montessori school at Milimani Law Courts. nThe Judge took the children through court processes and introduced them to the various court officials in the justice system  and their duties such as prison wardens, police officers and advocates. nThey were also taken to the children's court play area where they met other children under protection and Care cases. nShe encouraged the pupils to be of good behaviour so as not to get into trouble with the law and also to work hard in order to realise their dreams in life.nFurther,...

Deputy Chief Registrar of the Judiciary Paul Ndemo today also presided over the swearing-in ceremony of members of the HIV and AIDS Tribunal. Court clears over 50 matters in two days

 The Court of Appeal sitting at Mombasa has cleared over 50 matters in a two-day rapid response initiative (RRI). This will be replicated countrywide to clear pending cases in the Court of Appeal.nToday, May 28, 2019, it heard 16 appeals and nine applications.  On May 27, judges heard and determined 16 appeals and 8-single-judge applications. Further, they heard and determined three matters for settling terms of Orders.
